Part Number for Nardi Hub 280SL
« on: October 25, 2020, 11:29:48 »
I am searching the topic on the forum, but cannot find direction, please kindly help: there are two part numbers on Nardi website for hubs for Mercedes cars (tutti modeli 68-75)

4370.95.2802
or
4302.14.2802

Which one is best for 280SL? What is the difference between them?

Please kindly help.

I would like to know the answer also.
I have 2 Nardi wheels, one a complete set, and the second does not have the hub.
When I know the correct part Number I can order the missing hub.
Then I have two complete steering wheels.

Nardi do not sell the hub for early 230/250 cars so try to order both and see if one comes up unavailable. If it does that will be the one you don't want!

I went to the Nardi website and it is not so helpful.
So I sent an email, they will respond tomorrow.
Wait and see.

Thank you. I also tried the website and I also have sent them an e-mail. My trouble is I will be probably re-directed to the local distributor who has no idea what he is talking about.

This might work.

https://www.northstarmotorsports.com/products/sfID1/Car/sfID2/Interior+Vehicle+Accessories/sfID3/Hub+Adapters/manufacturer/MOMO/productID/8569

That link is for Momo, not Nardi and in any case only lists one part for all models. Early cars need a different hub from later ones due to the different steering wheel.

Nardi have redirected me to the Austrian distributor - I asked the question there.

I understand (correctly?) - is Momo collapsible and Nardi not?

This is what I got recently from the UK distributor:
Only 4302.14.2802 is available and it has the following dimensions:
47 splines
Diameter of the central hole : approx. 15,20 mm.
Total height : 109 mm.

I have received information from the Nardi distributor in Austria,

https://classic-wheels9.webnode.com/unser-angebot/mercedes/#!

4370.95.2802 - more modern, collapsible
4302.14.2802 - older model that looks better in a Pagoda due to the shape; all aluminum

Both available.

Pictures attached.

Tom, I just ordered them from the distributor I mentioned.
I asked Nardi to direct my query to a distributor but not the one they had in Poland as the Polish distributor did not care about what I wanted. So they gave me the Austrian one.

I ordered Anni 60's wheel.
Two types of hubs are available for 280SL.
Horn buttons with Mercedes star come in ivory, blue, black or burgundy colors.

I have no idea how to pull apart the parts - I have not seen them yet.

Pawel:
What is anni 60's wheel.
The 2 hubs in your post are not like the one I have.
Mine must be an old version.
Mine is just straight down, it does not have ribs or cut outs like in your pictures.
On the bottom where it contacts the steering wheel it has a small center ring with the name Mercedes.
There is a number 3202 in the aluminum part.

It may be an older hub, it may be a Momo hub - I have seen references to no. 3202 in many posts here on the forum.

Anni 60s is the model of the Nardi wheel. My wife said it is the only one that she likes and it was the end of discussion. Link to look at:

Pawel:
Your first classic 9 has pictures where one or two shows the ring that is on my steering wheel.
The center horn button varies. any one will do.
But where is the detail on parts and pricing.
Also instructions on how to take apart the ring, horn button and eventually the hub.
The site is nothing but pictures.

Pricing you get from distributors when you ask them.

Instructions - I guess you could ask Nardi directly. You have a contact form there.

On the Nardi page you have the hub catalogue in pdf.
