Cable Holder Part Number

I took the picture from my friend's Pagoda - the US version, original condition. It shows this cable holder keeping together the cables coming out of the firewall. Do you happen to have the part number of this holder? I cannot find it anywhere... I would buy one if I can find it.

I believe a PO replaced the original radio interference suppression cable with a regular 2-wire clamp.
Take a look at the Bosch instructions pdf in the technical manual:

Alfred, thank you! I would never think of looking for it in the suppression kit...

My friend found a piece similar to his on ebay - but I guess this may be either a different version of the one from suppression kit or some standard "doppelschelle" for the temperature gauge and tacho shaft.

That is a question that only Achim can answer, he knows probably all existing cars with VINs between 00004 and 00100 and without radios.  ;)
Seriously, my 1964 230SL did not have the clamp with the grounding wire and there was no indication that the circle in the firewall pad was ever used as a grounding spot.

Having looked at quite a number of our era cars (1970) including some that were very low miles I have never seen one.  Although it is a little worn this one shows Original oil cooler hoses, original clamps and even logos still on the relays.

Would you happen to know the VIN and/or year of the car in the picture you posted above? You mentioned 1970 but I wasn’t sure if you were talking about the exact picture.

Pawel and I both have 1970 US spec cars.  This one is Somewhere mid 70-71 US spec only.  Small oil filler cap, black relays behind the batteries, small fuse box mounted on back of brake booster parallel to the firewall, plastic transmission dipstick knob.  There are some small changes at the end of production like the small fusebox moves inline with the fender on a small "L" bracket etc.  This one is really right down to Tye wrap placement and the brown vacuum line from the throttle body to the vacuum valve and translucent white from the valve to the distributor plus some other tiny stuff. 

This is a good one to follow.  A couple of small things that are wrong are the nuts that hold the battery down are not supposed to be wing nuts and the bolts for the subframe mounts appear to have been painted black.  Should be yellow cad or zinc.

The clamp I am asking about is from my friends fairly original 71US specs. Very late VIN. My friend says this clamp is not from suppression kit. He found one on ebay like the one he has in engine bay and bought it. He holds his position: this clamp is what was on this car from factory. We sometimes have these disputes...

That is why I wanted to make sure if none of you spotted this kind of clamp not as part of the suppression kit, but simply cable holder.

Seems to me so far - no.

By the way: the ground strap - was it screwed to the suppression kit clamp or soldered?

Late very low mile 70-71 the Classic Center sold.  Small pic but notice the small fusebox is inline with fender etc.  No clamp.  Whomever prepped this car for sale messed it up a little.  Wrong clamps,  Yellow zinc oil filler cap etc.

the ground strap was screwed to the clamp.
Please note the differences between the 230SL and 280SL kits. In the latter one this ground strap was eliminated, only the one on the radiator remained.

Indeed, it looks like they dropped it for later cars.

I think my friend is wrong to claim this clamp was fitted in late cars as standard. I think many of you would have seen it/have it. could be PO just wanted to put some order to the cables. it is true that the tacho or speedo cables are more likely to be damaged when they are bent or lose - maybe that was the idea - to hold it in place (not a bad idea). And someone just fitted a standard clamp.

I was sent something like that from niemoeller... It was a mistake so I don't have the part number but they can be helpful if you just give them a description.

Indeed the part C08333 is a wire harness (and other places) clamp - what you ordered, I guess.

What they sent to you is, I think, fuel tank vent lines clamps, A1109950332, Niemoeller pn D47 073, SLS 247069.
