Boot/trunk depth?

Hi folks
Odd question I know, but here goes

Currently ‘Bessy’ is still in the workshop, which is over 100 miles away (I know our American cousins think that is no distance but here in Blighty it is!).

Hubby wants to know what I want for Crimbo, and I found a rather wonderful looking retro cool box. The trouble is, I want to be able to place in Bessy’s boot/trunk but as I have no Bessy, I’m a little stuck. I’ve looked at the various pieces of paperwork and documents I have but to no avail.

I attach a picture of the item which shows the dimensions. If anyone happens to be out with their pagoda, could you take your tape measure and see if this will fit. Ideally I wish to place it to the side of the boot/trunk rather than again the rear bulkhead.

I am dubious if it will fit vertically, Katie, the boot is quite shallow, and the hinges and boot lid frame may contact the box.

We keep a Fridge on the back seat behind the driver.

It is easily accessible then during long trips

The logo is such a classic! I’ve seen this one, which indeed is the first one I found. But time I’ve imported it from the states, it all adds up, plus if anything wrong, I’d have the price of resending back and new postage. Not to mention the joy of custom charges!  I don’t know why the UK Koolatron site only has the big version, whilst the US site only the smaller one, weird!  Maybe they think the limees drink a lot more? 🤣

Here are heights inside the trunk.  You've got 12 inches under the lip (I have a cocomat on the floor) and it looks to be about 13" in the centre portion of the trunk if you want to stay no higher than the spare.

I spent more than 10 years at Pepsi and in blind tests, most people preferred Pepsi coolers😂

Pepsi won in most blind taste tests because you put more sugar into it.

I took the Coke/Pepsi challenge many many moons ago ago and I picked Coke. I have always found Pepsi to be sweeter than Coke and I could usually taste it.  I like the cooler that Merc_Girl was looking at as I have a vintage Coke fridge in my garage/shop.  Mind you it is stocked with beer but who's going to complain.  Not me.

I took the Coke/Pepsi challenge many many moons ago ago and I picked Coke. I have always found Pepsi to be sweeter than Coke and I could usually taste it.  I like the cooler that Merc_Girl was looking at as I have a vintage Coke fridge in my garage/shop.  Mind you it is stocked with beer but who's going to complain.  Not me.

Why? They use cane sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.

I think you are referring to the "contour" bottle, usually the glass one - I think this contour bottle is part of the experience, which, even though it is a simple soda, is, actually, multi-sensual and the shape plays a big role here.

I spent some time yesterday looking for a car fridge for you in the UK, but, to be honest, I have not found a lot. There were some on amazon, but "not available".

I will check if there is anyone I know now in the organization there in the UK and see if they have anything, but it is a long shot...

I will keep looking for a nice Coke car fridge that will fit in the trunk available in the UK.

Staying in the UK - my next 10 years of career was with Cadbury's.

It isn't about the chest.  It's about the style of the chest.  Driving a W113, parking and picnicking out of your vintage Coca Cola cooler says you are a person who believes in fun, optimism and better times ahead.  Doing the same thing and pulling out a Yeti cooler means you are a wanker who never thought through that you would never be 3 days from a block of ice.

GM:  Mexican coke is better.  Still very sweet but a little more crisp on the flavor and the post drink feeling like you need to brush your teeth is greatly reduced.

So, I wanted a top loading one so that I could just lift the top up to grab a drink, rather than trying to rummage around in the boot and move things around. Glad you kept to the CocaCola theme, though some were somewhat larger than the one I was trying to shoe horn into the boot!
