Yes indeed ! Painted with the same paint, body and hard top, whitewalls, tan ( cognac ) interior, ivory steering wheel and gear knob, two door mirrors, same number plates, LHD, euro bumpers, auto shift, roof bars, she did a fine job.

This is definitely on my "bucket list" I want to change a model to "Sandy Beige" . Norev makes a 230SL on "Gold" but the color is not close enough.
I have an Anson which is white and will probably work great for a conversion. I need to acquire a 350SL model and use the Bundt wheels
Don't know how much your wife had to change, Ray, but this would have been close to what your car is. No hardtop, though.
Actually the Anson model and the official Mercedes Benz Classis Collection model are identical. The blue one is from an MB dealer

It looks like painting the body will not work. All the chrome pieces on the trunk are painted on and masking will not work.
I have to get this and change the interior. 1:12 is better to work with also.

The model my wife bought from Germany, Schuco, was silver when she got it then she sent it to a company in Wales along with the spec and paint colours and loads of pictures secretly taken of my Pagoda and she got back an exact replica, so a good model company can do it.

Wow! I admit, I rather put that money towards restoring some of the items in the "real thing"! ;) 8)

Personally, as an incredible surprise birthday present from my wife I was, still am, and will always be more than happy with the model which will be cherished long after the day comes and the "real thing" goes to it's next custodian.   ;)

What a sad thing to say, why can’t one have both!!!

Whilst one’s little baby is sitting in the garage, you can have a mini-me of your pagoda on show in the lounge

I think it is an amazing present to have and maybe being a little bias, but your wife is a genius!! Knowing from personal experience on how difficult it is to find something so personal for a present shows how much she still loves you! You’re a very lucky man!
