Common on vehicles from many manufacturers today, but at the rear, since 2007 Ford Motor Company has called it "Cross Traffic Alert."  When in reverse, early versions only sounded a pattern of beeps when a vehicle was detected approaching from either direction, more modern versions actually apply the brakes.

Interesting that someone, either at D-B or a film studio, was thinking about something like this 50-odd years ago!  But then, we should recall that James Bond did have sat-nav in his Aston!
