It has been a while since I last communicated, but I am pleased that progress has now been made.
As I was unable to source any shims from a M-B dealer, a local engineering firm manufactured 0,2mm shims at a very reasonable price (1.20 USD each) and also of fair quality. Originally there were 3 shims on the WRD totaling 0.6mm. It required two additional shims of 0,2mm each for the warm-up process to work satisfactory. It is not 100% perfect yet, but the base is set and after a bit of fine tuning the car should run well again.
