How to obtain Data Card
« on: March 22, 2021, 12:33:05 »
Hi Everyone!

New to this group and looking for help with a LHD 230SL 1964 I have purchased. I can see that a lot of people have had help with understanding vehicle provenance and also getting a copy of the Data Card from Mercedes Classic Centre.

Please can you tell me how I contact the Classic Centre or provide a website?

Thanks

You need to contact the classic centre in California. Provide them with proof of owbership by posting to them a copy of your registration and a photograph of your Pagoda. This at one time was free, howver, now there is a $150- US charge.

Address your e-mail to Tom at this e-mail -->classiccenter@mbusa.com

BTW. If you Google Classic Centre California you can find all this information. Google as you know is a wonderful tool. Also if you Search our web site there has been much discussion on this subject.

I see you're in the UK.
Any dealer can get it for you but if you have a problem I can supply it.

I wrote to the Classic Centre from the UK and Tom replied that he could not help me since he can only assist US based owners. I then went to the nearest Mercedes Benz dealer (Brooklands in this case) with the V5 and they printed a copy for me, but I had to wait a while for it.

Net/net, I would recommend taking up the offer from Colin (stickandrudderman) to get this - he obtained one for my other Pagoda and it was easier than the rigmarole at Brooklands
