W111 Coupe For Sale

A fellow Member of the Mercedes Classic Club of Poland (the only official Mercedes Classic Club in Poland), a well respected and known Member, is selling his 1961 W111 Coupe (220 SEb). Manual.  Maybe someone here would be interested.

The price is PLN 225 000, which is roughly EUR 49 000.

Translation of info in the announcement:
The W111 is considered as one of the most beautiful coupe form Mercedes. It was produced as of February 1961 until October 1965 with a total of 14173 produced. The car in question left the factory in Stuttgart in October 1961 and is one of the first manufactured for the US market. The first registration in the US took place in 1962. We do not have the detailed history since then. The car was bought in the US by the present owner in 2004 in Florida. Restoration works were completed in April 2019.

Hi Pawel,

49k euros is "strong" money for a 220SE coupe but that does look an exceptionally nice car.

The fuel injection system is not correct for a 1961 which may put off those seeking "originality", but I suppose the later version could be considered an upgrade too.

It may take a while in this climate but I am sure he will find a buyer for such a nice example. It really does look like it has had some money spent on it.

I do not know this car very well, seen it briefly during the event I attached a picture from. But we talked about work on it - it took some time, as you see. I do not suppose he was taking shortcuts.

The website the link goes to I have never heard of, probably because it is unique to Poland. Why not put it on mobile.de where it will get a much bigger audience?

I am just worried that you may get a car composed of halves and quarters form 2 to 3 other cars, form the first owner who was 2 years old when the car was new, was crying when he was selling and used it only to go to church on Sundays....
