Hello Everyone
I took the 230SL for a long run on the weekend (900 km) and it didn't miss a beat. I filled up on the way home using my usual fuel, Shell Premium unleaded. This is 98 octane and the car goes well on it. I got back onto the open road and an overpowering rotten egg gas smell appeared in the cabin. This lasted almost three hours until the tank was less than half full and then it gradually dissipated. At one stage I stopped to check and the smell was very powerful under the car. I've since filled up again with another brand of premium unleaded petrol and so far the smell hasn't come back although I've done very little driving. This is the first time it's happened and took the edge off what was otherwise a very pleasant trip. Any ideas what causes this?
Thanks, Mark
