Mercedes EPC Access
« on: November 25, 2021, 02:17:11 »
I have been paying for access to the Mercedes EPC and although I can sign in with my account info, it will not allow me to enter the EPC from that point. Can anyone that has EPC access in the US offer some insight on how they are do so?

I don't think it works from Canada. I tried once and quickly gave up.

One of my suppliers has it and he just sends the page/s to me and I pick out whatever I need.

I am an EPC user in Europe and understand it may work differently, but here, when ib trouble, I have two means of support: the dealer my account is assigned to and the EPC support themselves. Perhaps one of those would work for you?

The EPC isn't the EPC anymore and is now called Xentry Portal last time I heard. I have a free subscription and through the 190SL club. I joined that a few years ago because I have a Ponton coupe and parts are similar. It occasionally has issues and you might try to contact the support.

Yes, I am calling it EPC for easy recognition and speed. It has changed a couple of years ago and it has changed again a couple of months ago as well. The work carried a couple of months ago included cleaning up account base. I had to perform some activities related to that.

The admin were quite supportive and responsive. That led me to write about turning to them to resolve log in issue.

I have been using it for years since I have a US based email through my work. I was hoping to find someone that pays for service in the US and can provide the detailed steps they are using. I can sign in fine and when I try to access the parts catalogue, it gives me the following message.

I have never understood why Mercedes makes finding and buying parts from them the modern way as complex as possible.

I gave up on the EPC years ago when simpler, less fussy and free alternatives can be found on the web.

That may be perhaps because you have to have MB dealer assigned in the user preferences. This is the case here.

In the USA, car makers have to provide work shop repair manuals - at least they always used to. MB provides that service for a fee, on line. So, they follow the rules but never make it easy to do so.

I expect their EPC is similar. There's one that has everything you need including list prices, dealer prices, changed up numbers, and cross over applications on some parts. While not everyone needs to see dealer prices, they could make it a whole lot easier for the average Joe by providing the exploded parts diagrams. No prices, just item numbers like the old dealer's parts books from years past. I agree though, this is a company that's very anal about almost everything.

MB has a way of looking at anyone who isn't a factory trained tech as being a hack. They won't admit it but it's still there in the background. Hence their resistance to providing anything more than they have to.

Of course, I could be all wrong.  ( roll MS tape in 3...2...1 )

The one I have, changed a couple of years ago is connected to Webparts and I am connected to the dealer who gave access to me years ago. I pay the fee. I see the prices, PNs go from exploded diagram directly to order form that I push button and send to dealer.

Yes, I did have issues on access when changes were made, but resolved them with IT support.
