Blower Fan removal
« on: December 28, 2021, 05:46:59 »
Hi,
Wanted to share a hack I made to remove the blower impellers using a puller avoids using hammers.
I welded three nuts to a washer and locked this against the collar.

Hi, 230slhouston.

I am curious - On mine blower it was a small lock screw (Allen key/Hex key) on the metal part of the fan impellers. Loosening this, and the impellers was just to pull out easily... Was the Allen key "rounded" / unusable in your case? As you may noticed the small Allen key is fastened to a flat spot one the fan motor axle. How did you get the small screw over the not flattened end part of the axle?

Hi,
I am not sure if I understand the question.  But I unscrewed the screw and removed it first.  Then removed the impellers. When I install, just put it in one turn before installing the impellers over the shaft.
Hope this helps.
