Not my car but the photos were all taken in Wapping, London, E1. Wapping High St, Scandrett St. There’s an old school that’s now a house on Scandrett St (below), but having lived in Wapping for 13 years, I recognise much of it.

At the risk of going off subject (not for the first time!) it's a beautiful building, coincidence the photos should be taken in front of it, i imagine it's a lovely house now

Certainly that is a charming neighborhood!
The car itself photographs quite well. Their are elements that are clearly not original but for the average observer it definitely looks right.

That little parcel rack / coin or glove holder on top of the tranny tunnel is intriguing. I think I may need to make one. I think it would look better in bare wood to be the same colour as the centre console though.
When I look at the little parcel rack in the pictures it says to me - "home made by someone who wasn't proficient in the art of woodworking so it was covered it in black Naugahyde".
If built properly you wouldn't even need to screw it down - then I could add a set of Heuer stop watches and people would think I was the real deal

Bonnyboy,
Here's a link to a post of mine from a few months back:
https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=25288.msg237858#msg237858
It shows a wooden tranny tunnel tray and explains a bit about its history. A few posts earlier in the same thread is a photo of my car (with the old carpet) with the tray in place (click on the photo to enlarge it for a better view).
I put the "prickly" half of a couple of adhesive-backed velcro strips on the bottom of the tray, and along with the tray being snugged up against the under-dash panel, it holds to the carpet and stays in place just fine.

Who writes this stuff? Don't they at least do an internet search. Went from the 230SL right to the 280SL. Sounds like a car salesman. Oh wait, he/she is a car salesman.

I always thought that our pagodas could use a center console over the trans tunnel as an extension of the dashboard and an armrest to create more of a cockpit feel.
But they came later in the 107 SLs
The wood center tray in our cars are so basic and pure in design from an early era. I would not change a thing.
- Except maybe a removable upholstered armrest .

That picture of the centre console got me thinking so I copied the idea from the picture DavidAPease provided and after cutting up some scraps and planing them to a width I liked I tried out different heights and shapes and dimensions I think what I made looks ok.
I arched the bottom to fit the tunnel and then put a fabric base - not too sure if I like the base colour - maybe a piece of black leather would look better - I will play with it.
Just have to find a chunk of walnut that I can play with to give a richer look and try to match the wood I have in the car.
This is just a trial piece made out of scraps of a window sill I pulled out of the neighbour's garbage pile last year and some laquer that I rescued out of a frozen spray can. The stain was dark walnut but I may add a bit of cedar to liven it up. I antiqued the finish a bit to make it look old.
