looking for plastic autoshifter guide for 1969 280SL
« on: March 22, 2022, 20:46:49 »
New member here, but long-time owner of 1969 280SL. The white plastic, automatic gear shift guide has been broken for a long time, and I'm now trying to find a reproduction or OEM source. Would seem to be a perfect job for a 3-D printer, but would need the computer drawing for input.

Will consider a used one, if in good condition.

Any tips or sources? Thanks!

Widely available:
https://www.authenticclassics.com/Plastic-Shifter-Guide-Plate-for-Automatic-Transmis-p/auth-004544.htm

or through the MBenz Classic Center in Irvine, CA.

Plenty of installation threads here, use the "search" feature on this site for "shift gate" instructions or similar terms.

Watch out for slots for tabs and for bulb holder - if they fit what you have in car.
