Added Another Mercedes W114 280CE

I was surprised at the cost compared to a Pagoda or even a W111. 1/10th of the cost. I used all the money i saved on cheaper tyres for the Pagoda.  lol

Very nice Gary. These are great cars. The fuel injected versions, like yours, were by far the best. With the small (non USA bumpers) and euro headlights they are just beautiful. This model was one of my favorites to drive.

My neighbor when I was a kid, Bob Guckenberger, was a young copywriter on the Mercedes-Benz account at Ogilvy & Mather, the advertising agency of record at the time for the USA operations. After one or two Pagodas, "Mr. G" got one of these. Loved that as much as the 113.

I wonder if anyone has fitted the Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection system to a Pagoda?

I think that by the time they added D-Jetronic to the /8 sedans and coupes the 2.8L six was the twin cam that also made its way into the R107.

Its the /8 twin cam 1972.  Car is in pretty good shape.

There seems to be lots of 250ce’s in Australia but not so many 280ce’s and they are just starting to appreciate in price thats doubled in the last couple of years but coming from a very low base.

IIt will be my winter car for club cruises.

Mike, actually the 250CE versions were fuel injected M130 engines. They used the Bosch electronic fuel injection. Very rare and quite a bit easier to work on than the twin cam 280 CE.

Got the car on club registration this morning after replacing rear discs and pads and a couple of other minor items to get the Roadworthy certificate to allow me to register it.


Now its raining so no driving it today.
