value clearance setting for engine M130.983

Can anyone tell what the clearance is for intake and exhaust value adjustments on 1970 280SL with M130.983 engine

Inlet 0.08mm  Exhaust 0.18mm if you work with standard non-metric tools  inlet 0.003 in exhaust 0.007 in

Mike is correct. The engine tech data decal in the tech manual is wrong.

What makes you so sure that these data were wrong?
When I added those as part of the Valve Adjustment Procedure (written together with Joe A.) I used as the source the Daimler-Benz "Technical Data for Passenger Cars" Issue 1969 and Issue 1971. Both show a value of 0.20 mm, see scans.
Did Daimler publish a revision later that you know of?

Interesting. All the tech data I've known here in Europe shows .08 and .18mm and that's what I've been using for 41 years.
Perhaps there's a difference in spec according to country?

Either way, the difference between the two specs on the exhaust side is .02mm or .0007". In reality, I doubt anyone using a feeler gauge will be anywhere near that close.

I doubt that Daimler-Benz used different values depending on the car's destination/location.
The German "Tabellenbuch" from 1968 shows the same 0.20mm value.
The English version is most likely a direkt translation from that one.

My preference for entries into our technical manual is to use the manufacturer's data when they are available.
That doesn't mean, of course, you should change your procedures that you used successfully for 40+ years.  ;D
As Wallace pointed out only a few would be able to "feel" the difference.
