low idle rpm
« on: June 06, 2005, 17:22:56 »
lately, after starting i get low idle. Enough to make it stall out. Adjusting the idle screw doesn't help. The idle screw used to take care of this, in fact, I would have to lower the idle sometimes because it idled too fast when at a standstill. It still runs good, so I know it's not the engine. I already checked wire connections. They are 1 year iold Bosch wires also, so I doubt that's the problem---Dr. Benz or someone help!

Hello,
I would check the points, they may be closing and thus retarding the ignition. Check the fuel pressure and the fuel filter. Make sure the waaarm up divice on the injection pump is not stuck by checking the air line going to it. The air line should be suppling air during warm up but should be closed off after warm up.
Lastly you can turn the injection pump fuel mixture knob a few clicks rich, the re-adjust the air screw on the intake.
