You will all be pleased to learn that the Sl113.org envelope with Pagoda World finally arrived here today. Sent on 12th of september, arrived on 17th of november.

So if you haven't yet received your issue, do not give up hope yet!

It has a new label attached, with a return address in the Netherlands. A bit of sleuthing learns that this is: KAAB They are a Polish/Dutch mail redistributor, probably used by US postal service, leading to these massive delays in delivery.

Before sending the next batch, we better check with the shipper / postal service.

Yes, please a bit more patience for those that have not yet received their copy of PW 31. We do realize that the delay is not acceptable and are working with the printer to understand where we need to apply the proper solution(s).

For those that have not received a magazine, if you do get one in the next week or so, please post here.

If the disappearing issues do not show up, we will follow up as we did for PW 30.

To all group full members. We have closed the window on PW 31 no-show replies.

We understand this is simply not an acceptable set-up and we are moving toward what we hope is a more reliable shipping method with PW 32.

We are doing a reprint of PW 31 as we did for PW 30.

This all reminds me of a bit of trivia. The first issue of Pagoda World was printed in two places: for the United States I believe it was Rodd who had those printed and mailed, and I had the 'rest of the world' done in and from Amsterdam. So, there are two versions of the first edition: one in A4 format and one in Letter. I believe we went to having everything printed in the US as from the 2nd issue on (not entirely sure now since it's around 20 years ago ...)

Wow, that's a designer's nightmare! Two layouts and two sets of everything. I guess that makes the A4 original version quite a collector's item!

US Page size: 8.5" x 11"  -or-  215.9mm x 279.4  "wider but shorter"
ISO A4: 210mm x 297mm  -or- 8.268" x 11.693". "narrower but taller"

Now here's some more trivia...there's generally a healthy amount of white space, or big "bleeds" with the images, and text far from the edges, on Mercedes Benz print ads so that one layout and design with different trims can be used in both US, A4 and other size publications with no changes.

The domestic items were put in the mail last Friday, 30 December. The international items are going out this coming Friday, 6 January.

These are being sent directly, not via a mail forwarding system.

The reprints were mailed out of the US to international locations on 6 January 2023. Delivery time for first class mail is usually 2 weeks or so. It should be close.

Hi,
I'm not waiting any longer for the PW31.
I spoke to a CIA insider last night who told me that all PW31s shipped overseas have been confiscated because the pictures allegedly show secret facilities.
Personally, I think this is nonsense. Rather, I thought it was a rumor that the PW31 even existed, because no one had seen it before. You could also row across the Atlantic faster than going to the post office.

;D ;D I am sure the magazines were sent via Media Mail which will take an awful long time. I am regularly sending Birthday Cards (yes, I am hopelessly behind the times) to Germany to family and friends via First Class mail and they take two weeks to get there.
