Pagoda for Sale in Bellingham Washington

I saw an add last night for a Pagoda in Bellingham  Craigslist -  looks nice -  I think its in the $40k range  - Might be a deal

On the 1st glance ... looks like a 230 in the 40 Grand region.

A 1964 was never delivered with a 5-speed. If it had, it would have been retrofitted.

Needs a thorough visual inspection....

I just purchased this car on Friday and very much looking forward to restoring it. I jumped on it as I thought it was a good deal also. It definitely needs some work but it will be a good project. Engine runs but needs a tune up. Paint and interior will need to be updated as well.

There is a limit on both size and number of pictures you can load per post. Try reducing the size of the photos.


Would also suggest you join up as a full member. The $30 annual fee is a small price for in information on the Forum and Tech Manual that will potentially  save you many hundreds of dollars and also stop you doing some early changes that may in the long run not be the best way to do things.

Ha!...Yes, I feel I got a great deal. She was an older lady and was originally asking $25K. I felt bad even asking but got her to accept $24K. The car was a gift from her late husband who recently passed away. The car does run, however, since adding a new battery I noticed some smoke coming from the engine bay. I'm thinking its some kind of electrical issue with the starter or alternator but unsure. I'm having a mechanic look at it in the next couple of weeks. I'll try and get some pics posted. - Brandon

Also, I just removed the wood trim from the dash to refinish it. Seems the original color was a silverish blue? Haven't had a chance to look up what the original color code is.

There is a lot of information on the Forum and Technical Manual on wood refurbishment.  Be careful, the veneer is quite thin.

I suggest you join as a Full Member for $30pa and save your self lots of heartache and dollars as well that will more than pay for the membership.

Given just this information, you have made a wonderful purchase and cannot lose. Invest wisely, google extensively, read this forums many pearls of wisdom and follow the lead of experts on this site.
Will be great to see this car back on the road in whatever condition you can afford. Time and money can fix almost anything.

I wanted to provide an update on the 64' 230SL I purchased back in September - over the last couple of months I have been busy repairing and restoring the car. It was not running when I got it so I had a local mechanic here in Seattle replace the alternator; voltage regulator; thermostat; shifter bushings; ignition switch; in-line fuel pump; front brake rotors & pads; brake flex hoses (front & rear) and various other issues. Next step is front suspension / steering and I've ordered all new parts and plan on installing them in the next couple of weeks. Eventually I would like to repaint the car (red is not the original color) and update the interior. I've really enjoyed the process so far and the kids love it. We plan on keeping it in the family for years to come.
