Fuel damper

I have found a steel ball (aprox 12.5mm) inside my fuel damper. I have not seen this in any of the information regarding the fuel damper it looks to be located on the side of the diaphragm opposite the spring and there was nothing else with the spring. It seems that I am missing some parts and the steel ball seems to be extra. Help...
