Glovebox lid arm
« on: November 04, 2022, 09:19:50 »
Next problem, my glovebox lid is missing the semi-circular arm.

If anyone happens to have their glovebox out at the moment would love some measurements (length/diameter?) of the arm or/and close up photos

Mine is out. Unless someone is faster, I’ll send you some pics / dimensions when I am home. How are you planning to attach it?
Its welded if I remember correctly.

Thanks Dirk for the quick reply, excellent info  :)

I might try weldbond or similar first (if I can get a really tight friction fit first as my lid is already painted), failing that I'll have to resort to tig and use my aluminium block heatsink to absorb the heat.....

Hi Joe,

I’m in Melbourne and my glovebox lid is sitting in my boot awaiting fitment as I’m putting my car back together.

More then happy for you to have a look at it and take any measurements you need.

No worries Joe

At the rate my resto is going, it’ll be a long time before it goes back in.

Doug,
It will be interesting to compare your measurements to those provided in the link above.  More data samples the better.

All,
Is this rod, and the "forks" inside the spring, good candidates for digital printing?

Hi Rodd,

For sure, mine has the steering wheel on the correct side😋, so it would be interesting to note any differences between LHD and RHD.
