I recently fitted a 6speed box, but before that i had the Getrag 5 speed .

The Getrag has reversegear right next to firstgear select , and many boxes have little problem in selecting reverse in stead of firstgear.


To overcome this i made this attachment to clearly seperate  First and Reverse , its a one off and works like a charm its extraspringload is adjustable.
Its no visible because it disappears completely under the rubber.

Is this for the Getrag 265?

Any instructions?  Does the trans need to come apart or is this outside and can be installed in situ?

Hi Teahead,   thanks for asking.

Is a one-off i made for myself , it does not reflect the work gotten into at all, i just wanted a good home for it , and beware it for the skip..


All the work can be done from inside the car.

You have to take off the knob and rubber first , then remove the two m6 nuts , install the first ring onto the 2 m6 studs , and after that install the upper part with the two m6 bolts.

reinstall the rubber and knob and the job is done.  it really is selfexplaining..
