Tail light chrome question
« on: November 20, 2022, 16:54:58 »
As part of my winter project, I have removed a bunch of chrome parts to sent out/polish myself.

I have a quick question--Is the tail light chrome and the lens one unit? I don't want to remove if it is one unit

Hello, assuming you have the later plastic bulb holder, your lenses and chrome surround should be in two parts

I have a 1971 model and the tail lamps are one piece with the chrome surround a separate piece.

In the description of tail lights in the tech manual on this site it states that the chrome can be easily separated from the newer lights (Orange Red ones); the plastic is not fused to the chrome. This is the case on my  1970.  For my 1969 that had all red lights, the lens is fused to the chrome.
