Spring design details
« on: February 13, 2023, 02:28:38 »
I am looking for the dimensions of the various suspension springs used on a 230SL. I don’t see this information in the BBB. Where can I look?

That information is in the small technical data book not the BBB.

The small books an be quite helpful. They are year specific not model specific. These are relatively easy to find on eBay.

Can you post a pic of the front,  back covers so we know what to look for?

Here's a photo of the relevant book for your car Rodd. The rear cover is plain.

Alex - I don't see what you mean. Do you mean a picture of the actual rear spring in-situ? Or just the data page? But that's already legible..

Hi Rodd.
The contents of our Technical Manual have grown substantially since you went into hiding awhile back. Time to brush up!  ;)

Thanks Dave and Alfred, I think I actually have one of those?  I'll have to dig in a couple boxes in the basement.
