Don't know the seller and have no affiliation with him. Just thought his SL looked like it could be a good solid stick-shift car with genuine low miles. Of course, you'd have to see it in the flesh, but everything I see in these pix looks very "real," including things like dry horsehair padding in the seats and broken heater levers.

I agree, this car looks very nice. I love the color, any idea what it's called?

Hmmmmmmmmm,
Its manual of course and has the normal dash-pot but also a wired up CSS, but no A/C.
Comments?

They're around. I live near a dealership and saw five or so being unloaded from a hauler on Sunday - love to have one. Sales guys said they were backordered 18 months or so.

There's a new, pumped-up version coming out, no?

The problem I have this owner is that he has to rent an airline hangar to store his cars.  If he were a real collector the hangar would be on his own property.  Must be nice to have discretionary income to excess.

Nice 280SL. The driving lights on the bumper are 180 Hella's and did you notice the rear fog lamp? I know my friend a retaired BMW mechanic with a lot of money has a hanger at Santa Monica Airport accross from what was Jerry Seinfeld's hander full of Porsches. My friend moved his tools to the hanger and one of the BMW's he collects because the house has too small a gurage at this time. To hold his toys.

Let's not forget that Jay Leno has his cars and motorcycles in not one but two hangers.   ;)

I'll comment on your excellent powers of observation!  Great catch.  I can't imagine why the CSS would be there on this car.  Perhaps it was originally an automatic and converted to manual transmission?  More likely - the air condition was removed.

Hello guys,

Yes, just impressive - really seems to be one of the best/nicest.
And you both "grey ones" are also right. This is a great looking color combo.
Would have loved to "inspect" that car for its real qualities but unfortunately I live too far away (5000 kms).

Sold for $35K. That's a steal if it's as good a car as I think.
