tool kit arrangement
« on: June 28, 2005, 22:43:03 »
I am trying to sort out a 280 sl tool kit. Richard Madison's dec '04 post and picture (toolkit 2)were very helpful but even in that picture it looks like 3 of the pockets are empty. Can anyone tell me what is (or should be) in those pockets.
A complete list of the tools from left to right would be most helpful.

Hello Gus,
I believe this tool kit is complete. It is not uncommon for the pouch to have extra pockets. Some years had a black plastic fuse puller also.

Many of the tools in the kit are the same in sedan tool kits of the era. The hard items to find are the special W113 tool pouch, the long handle pliers, and the fuse puller.

An additional "optional" lubrication service tool kit could be ordered which had the special grease gun for the door hinges, some other wrenches and the very desirable chrome "Mercedes-Benz" engraved tire pressure guage.
