« on: June 27, 2023, 13:19:17 »
Hi
I have my clock out and I’m trying to adjust the time( it runs slow) I know how to do the..
it’s just that is doesn’t run when I attach it to a small 12volt battery.. I see the earth (ground) and two positives..+1 and +0 .. I’ve tried both and the clock still isn’t working??
What am I missing..?

There's a thermal fuse in there, that may be shot.

Another thing .. thought about replacing the bulb while in there..
thought about an LED.. ordered it from a classic LED supplier.. was told the supply lots of Pagoda enthusiasts with all the required bulb swaps..
Mine arrived but, doesn’t fit.. nor does the modern replacement ordinary bulb??
The brass one is the original.. and fits perfectly..

I had a similar problem with the ordinary replacement bulbs. In my case, the solder dot would interfere. I had to "gently" grind it down a bit to work.

Hi Dirk..
In this case.. the newer ones just seem too wide(fat) to even fit in the hole…

Re Clock Bulb

I had the same problem when I changed my dash lights to LEDs, all ok except for the clock.

I found that Halfords did an LED  ((Glass bulb type) that fitted, They were in a twin pack in bubble wrap.

Unfortunately one of them shot out of my hand across the garage floor, never to be seen again ! Good job there were 2.

Hope this helps    https://photos.app.goo.gl/dw6X6Ceydwvk54GU2

A link to my googlephotos, the clock is there, dont loose the little spring ring.

Thank you Paul
I’ll check those out.. I don’t suppose the know  exact bulbs do you?
And.. did you change them all successfully? Do they dim? I also believe there I one you don’t change .. it cause too much resistance or something like that..

Hi Brennie

It is a T4W,  & I think that is the correct pack you show, and it does dim.

I did not change any in the central instrument cluster, (The Charging lamp should NOT be changed for LED).
You can see I did the Heater slides twice,(first time not bright enough)
The tacho, Speedo, and headlights except the fog lights & Indicators.
No real problems, but the side lamps needed to be fitted from inside the headlights ,as they would not go through the hole from outside.
Others have done the Indicators, but that again can present problems with resistance.

Good luck

Paul
