Best Fuel System Cleaners

Hi,

For a pagoda that's been in storage or sitting too much over several years, is it advisable to use a fuel system cleaner  to help clean out the injectors, injection pump, etc. A product called "Red Line Complete Fuel System Cleaner" was recommeded. Which leads to a couple other questions:
1. The directions say to add one bottle in up to 20 gallons of gas in the tank; would it be better to use less gas than that like maybe 10 gallons?
2. Does this kind of product pull sediment off the fuel line/injector walls, etc., and clog up the lines? Or does this sediment  just flow through and get flushed?
3. Can anyone recommend somebody in Los Angeles or CA that cleans the injection pump and injectors?

Not sure this will exactly help you but...

My 1979 320i and similar era models of BMW were prone to get some kind of crud-buildup on the cylinder heads. The prescribed treatment was blasting the crud buildup with fine walnut shell media according to a BMW procedure. Then they recommended--and this is pointing to your question, maybe--the use of [Chevron] Techron fuel injection cleaner. It used to be rather inexpensive and they used to actually sell 6-packs at Costco. Those days are long gone. So I learned about Techron that way.

Right before I would store my Pagoda for the winter, I would have to drive it 150 miles to "up north" in Michigan. On that last tank of gas, I'd throw a bottled of Techron in the tank. Full bottle. Then when I arrived I'd put in a prescribed amount of Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer, and fill the tank again for storage.

Never had any fuel issues.
