I went ahead and created the poll at the top of the thread.  It's open for 21 days.  Poll results are hidden until the poll closes.  Enjoy!

Our W113s came to be called Pagodas because of the hard top shape being similar to a Japanese pagoda.

Why not “Takusan Pagodas” ??

The Japanese word “takusan” means much or many.  If my memory serves me correctly, there is little or no emphasis on the “u” and the pronunciation is almost as if it were spelled t-a-k-s-a-n.  Do we have a fluent Japanese speaker here?

Rodd, what about the later suggestions.  Are you going to modify your poll or, have you shut off further suggestions?

If the poll is updated, I have one more suggestion: A Gathering of Pagodas.

Not exactly. The gender ending in "A" is female in Italian. Male gender is "O". Plural ending for male gender (and mix) is "I" Plural ending for female gender is "E".
Consequently: One Pagod"A" , two or more are Pagod"E"

Now, write it out 100 times. If it's not done by sunrise, I'll cut your balls off.

The gender ending in "A" is female in Italian.
But it's a Japanese architecture reference for a German car.  I kind of like using Pagoda as both the singular and plural, as in the one suggestion "a loada Pagoda".  Made me smile. Most improtantly, let's not take anything in this discussion too seriously.
