early 230 injection pump oil level check - dipstick

Am I right that when checking the oil level (using the screw in dipstick on the side of the pump)  you measure with the dipstick just in the hole, not screwed back in. IE just resting in the hole. ?

during the 60 Year Pagoda event a member here - goldhamme_rulez - attended a show and tell at the Koller & Schwemmer BOSCH injection pump service and was told to screw the dipstick in completely on R11 pumps:
