Oil cooler pipe that comes out of the block
« on: October 30, 2023, 00:09:31 »
I have a 230SL with a 250SL block. At Pagoda Fest I disconnected that the pipe that comes out of the block near the oil filter was used for an external oil cooler. Because I don’t have an oil cooler, the pipe has a rubber cap with a pipe clamp holding it in place.

Is there a better way to cap the pipe? If a rubber cap is the best way, what specifications should the rubber have to keep it from failing because it is touching hot oil and a hot cast iron block?

Hei Alex. You can insert the original screw plug M30x1,5 DIN 906, MB part number 000906030003 instead of the pipe plug. Martin
