Brake booster reservoir float repair
« on: December 09, 2023, 17:41:59 »
Hi all

I have a 1969 280SL 4 Speed manual with its original ATE booster reservoir fitted. The floats inside have rubber grommets to seat the float needles into them. One of the grommets has started to disintegrate and I wondered if it was possible to repair them by bonding the needle into the float? I can buy a non genuine replacement reservoir which is not quite the same and would prefer to re use the original one if possible. Has anyone done this repair or utilized the new parts out of the replacement to rebuild their originals?

Many thanks

Thank you for that . I didn't realise the float assembly was available to buy separately.
