Becker Europa MU - Stereo - 7 Pin (DIN) cable question.
« on: February 15, 2024, 19:16:27 »
Hello everyone.

I am trying to utilize the 7 pin (cassette) input in my Becker Europa MU Stereo but when I plug in the cable purchased i get no sound from the music source.  Once I unplug I get FM/AM radio with sound without issue.

Here is the 7 PIN to 3.5mm cable I purchased.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08G1BXT4H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My stereo has the separate AMP located behind the dash. The 7 pin input is at the back of the stereo itself.

Did I buy the wrong 7 pin to 3.5mm cable? Or am i functionally not setting up the radio correctly?

Thanks for your input

I see this is your first post.  Welcome to the Group!  If you feel so inclined, you can introduce yourself here: https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=529.0

It can also help if you put the model/year of your car in your signature or profile so people know what you have when trying to give advice/assistance.

Thank You, I currently don't own a W113 but an Early R107. Came across this forum as there are some shared parts between the two models.

You might try asking Becker. They are located in NJ.

They helped me when I had a question about my radio.

I very much doubt that the generic Chinese adapter you bought, which appears to be designed for home amplifiers, would ever work with your Becker Europa.

Perhaps this would do what you want; it claims to work with the Europa, and it's from one of our trusted suppliers:

I use a similar adpater designed for my much older Becker Mexico (5-pin DIN, mono) radio, where I have a special button ("Q") to select tape (i.e., DIN connector) input.

Yep, You are probably right, I figured 7 pin DIN  to 3.55,, would be a sufficient cable for source transfer,  evidently not.
