I had my motorbike nicked last night

I keep it in a rented lockup nearby and it has one of those ground anchor "defenders" on the bottom of the door. That was pried off the ground. Garage door near destroyed to get in.  The bike was chained to a ground anchor. The heavy duty chain was gone. The bike had an alarmed lock on the brake disc. No sign of that. Factory alarm, factory immobiliser. I'm not sure what else I can do to keep it secure...

I got pinged at 1.45 am saying it was on the move (it has a tracker) but I don't keep my phone by the bed. So when i got to my phone at 8.15 I did a location check and it last pinged at 3.45am, 2 miles away. I called the police who went over there and found nothing. One of the neighbours  there saw the bike but it had gone before dawn. Tracker has been removed/disabled/destroyed.

My mate keeps his bike in the garage too, unlocked. That's still there so mine was likely nicked for parts/to order and already in bits/a container

James, sounds like your bike was targeted.  They knew exactly where to find it and what they needed to bring to overcome your various security features.  Perhaps an acquaintance?

I know some odd people but… Someone knew it was there, maybe seen it go in and out. On the one hand it’d be safer at my home, on the other, I’d rather they target somewhere other than my home.

The garage door was broken into nearly a year ago and nothing disturbed so I’m wondering if they made a note of what was there and only stole it when there was an “order” for it.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of bike was it that someone would go through such effort for?

Sorry to hear about your bike James. A bummer indeed, had to be a stolen to order job and it always amazes me that no one ever sees or hears a thing and they must have been there for some time. When they are taken they park the vehicle up somewhere random but local and leave it for a couple of hours to see if someone is actually tracking it. If no one turns up they will then finish the job and it will disapear into the night. I supose it is more difficult to hide a Tracker on a bike than a car so it is easier to find.
The only upside is that it wasn't your Pagoda

Sorry to hear this, I feel for you.  I hope insurance isn't a hassle and treats you well.  Keep riding.
