BobH plugs do look more like the originals once he did the modifications. I am sure that there will be members in USA that would want more of the original look. However if you vs are comfortable with the ACE, yes they are in the bulk parts Ben’s. Bob

Vintage Euro Parts is a company that likes to find vendors that will make parts if there is a market for them. Based on all the people on this post, I would think there is the need. I would contact them and see if they can make the parts.

I found one original plug on the passenger side. Those found by BobH are a very good match, you just need to gently cut off the "collar" and, if you see fit, shorten them a bot form the collar side with a knife. Then they look like original in my opinion.

Side question: I wonder if those plugs were installed on the outside of the chairs or also on the inside? I would not be surprised if it was only outside - you basically do not see the inner side of the chairs in that place. Always a saving to leave them unplugged...

Anybody found them on the inside of the chairs (in original chairs)?

Pawel, I found one chair that had both - The passenger seat with the kinder seat behind it. Whereas the drivers seat had neither. Impossible to tell but my thought was that maybe they got knocked off on that side as it is the only one that gets tilted forward frequently to put things back there. The kinder seat is so pressed against the back of the passenger side that it is rarely moved and so the plugs were 'un-interrupted'

Of course anyone could have moved them at any point too!

I don't personally think Mercedes would have only put the plug on the outer side - taking the seat apart, everything is so carefully repeated on the recliner mechanism with more springs than are needed to be functional - they could have saved more money there than on a plastic plug :)
Thanks,
Rich

See my reply 7 above.  My car came from the factory with the plugs inside and outside.

Hi all, I have received my plugs back from the 3D printers and they turned out to be a pain in the bum to get right with the colour texture and shape, but they did a great job in the end. If there was enough interest they could print off 100 at a unit price of £7 Plus P/P. Seems dear but they have to hand finish them.

What was the price for you to just order a couple? Even if rather high it might be simpler to each just put in an order for the number we need with your printer - at least now they have the template so to speak!
Thanks,
Rich

Put me down for 4. Are they a proper fit? Just asking because the ones from Ace were the wrong size!

Thanks!

Those look nice!

Granted, I’ve never dealt with a 3D printer shop but I’d think you’d be able to get the files from them? If so, any chance posting them in the tech manual 3D printed parts section? Might be easier to just have them printed locally rather than shipping around.

Thanks Bob! These were crazy expensive with shipping to US or UK but looking at the pics against my original post, they look very good for size and could be the same one supplied with the larger reliner part as the seller suggests.
I jumped on ebay.de and bought them locally as with shipping to a friend in Germany it worked out at a total cost of $10 a plug which I could stand to pay lol - I can also stand waiting till December when I next head to Europe to pick them up!
Thanks,
Rich
