Glove Box /Heater Wires
« on: March 26, 2024, 18:51:24 »
Ok this is one of my videos I want to kill myself over.  I had the camera pointed away from where I was talking.  So I sort of talked my way thru it but I am just not sure.  I have been wracking my brain because I was missing a couple wires that connect to the heater vent piece.  Then I realized they were from the Glove box...

Is this connection on the Vent piece just a junction to combine wires?  I don't see what that piece would need power and don't think there was anything inside it that I can remember.  But from my screen grab I see the Yellow and Orange White wires from the harness connecting to junction.  Then the 2 Wires from the Glove box ontop.  Seems wrong but in the picture it looks like the Yellow and OrangeWhite are both connected to the front post.  Is that just an illusion in my pic and it should be OrangeWhite on the front Post and Yellow on the back Post?

Then on the Glove Box wires.  1 has a black stripe?  Would that go to the front or back post?

Thanks for any clarification....
Aaron

Ok going frame by Frame I can see a difference in the 2 wires from the Glovebox.  So I now know the one with the red stripe goes to the Front Pole.   Still trying to see if I can get some image of of the Yellow wire going to the back pole which I think is correct.

Ok 99.9% sure I have it correct.
Orange White(Harness) + Red Black(Glovebox) to the Front Pole
Yellow(harness) + Black(Glovebox)

I found a piece of video where I am pulling out the Black Wire from the Back Pole and underneath there is a silver connector, so that must be the yellow wire.

So that is what I will do unless someone stops me!
Thanks
A

Hi Aaron,

I’ll be back at my car later on today (Aus East Coast Time), I can have a look and see what colour goes to which terminal.

Hi Aaron,

As per my pic attached, I can confirm that the brown wire goes on the terminal block screw closest to the front of the car and the red with a green trace to the back.

The two wires that go to the glove box lamp on mine are not marked, but given they are going to a globe it doesn’t matter.

Cheers Doug
