Bundt alloys?
« on: April 28, 2024, 16:00:46 »
Our '71 280 is fitted with Bundt alloys. Does anyone know if this was a factory option? Guessing no and that it's more likely dealer supplied to a prior owner but thought I'd ask here about factory.

Thanks for any info here!

The whole issue with the Bundt alloys is a little muddy. They started out as dealer installed. You would get 4 alloys and you kept the steel spare. Some time later in the 71 model year, when exactly nobody really seems to know for sure, they came as a factory option. The spare was an alloy also and the car had a different spare holder as the alloy will not fit on the steel spare holder. If your car has a steel spare, Bundt alloys are not a factory installed option.

People with 71's and bundle wheels should check their data card for an option code for this.
