Tacho cable - anyone seen one like this??
« on: May 03, 2024, 23:39:05 »
Does anyone know why the end of my tach cable might be separate other than a break? When I removed the tacho this came off the cable while still screwed onto the back of the gauge. I did not apply much pressure and it does not seem to be wrenched from the other end of the cable. It looks like they were just butted to one another with the cable running through this and perhaps attaching inside the gauge.

I really don't want to have to replace the whole thing from the other end if I don't have to!
Thanks,
Rich

The rubber end of the loose piece seems entirely flat and smooth - not as if it was somehow attached to this.
Thanks,
Rich

I've been working in that area, with more work to come. On my tach cable, that end is at the sender on the head - not sure if that matters. Do you think its possible to find an adhesive that you could effectively "glue" it back together?
