i have a 71 280 with the transistorized unit and 062 distributor. I asked Pertronix if they have electronic ignition for this unit. They recommended 1863 conversion kit. But from reading here my understanding is that this will not work with the later model 280. Anyone had any luck replacing points system with Pertronix? if so, which model. Thanks

See no responses here, but my 2c is that the 123ignition is probably a preferred option - you can put the original ignition set up in storage in case 'originality' ever comes calling. The 123ignition looks basically the same as original and will rejuvenate the engine performance with substantially more reliable and controllable ignition timing.

And immobilizer. Also a gauge panel with RPM, speed, Volts, Amps, crankshaft advance and MAP.
