Installing the heater control cables
« on: August 28, 2024, 21:02:21 »
When installing the heat/air control unit, do you Insall it with the cables attached to the control unit or after the control unit is installed and locked down?

That is a good question. I have done this twice, and I believe (I am trying to purge my memory of this job1) we locked the cables in place after the unit was repositioned.

Be aware of trying to adjust the cables so the fully closed and fully open are in the correct position for the slide levers.

If I recall correctly the only way I could do it was reversing the disassembly process described in the service book quoted in Technical Manual. There is a certain disassembly order and you have to fit them exactly in the reversed order. Otherwise I found it difficult.

As Pavel says, follow the tech manual, and take pictureS of the legnths of each level rod , it'will be easier when y'll put every thing back in the dash .
Hold the clips when you take out the levers rods ....! they can fall easily ....
