Clutch for ZF 5 speed
« on: August 30, 2024, 06:07:23 »
Hi all. my car is getting a mechanical overhaul at the shop. May do the clutch at the same time, we're not sure yet. my car is a 5 speed 230. Does anyone know about differences with the clutch? Tried looking through the manuals

No major differences. You will need to figure out which throw out bearing to use or use the same one that's on your transmission right now.

Indeed, I went down this rabbit hole a while back but in the end found that the clutch is the same, just the thrust bearing can differ.

The pressure plate is the same between all manual transmissions but the 230-250 have the spring type and the 280 has a different type .
