Engine grounding

I have two ground straps coming off the front of the engine - both are currently disconnected. One has what looks like a big condensor attached to it. Any idea where the grounds are supposed to go and what the condensor is?

These sound like part of the radio noise suppression kit that could be ordered with the car
There are details and pictures in the Tech Manual, see Radio - Suppression, there are two downloads with details for 230's and 280's, but you need to register as a full member to access them
Looking again at your picture, this condenser may be associated with late 280's electronic ignition, does it look like this one?

It depends if you've changed your ignition whether it's still required
