Have you tried setting up a Planet Express address in the UK. They act as a middle man. I find their service very good when getting things sent to the UK from the US.

Would there not be UK import charges before the onward shipping? Or do they have a way around that as a forwarder?

I haven't tried this, but I was told by the manufacturer that it had to be an EU address (also for payment).

I only use them from the US to the UK. I fill in my own declaration form once Planet Express receives my item from a US address. There would be an import duty into the UK from the EU I guess.

Jack, did you already found a forwarding address in the European Union?

Thankfully Ralph Neely on the board here has been a humongous help, and soon the parts will be on the way to me.

So request fulfilled! Thanks everyone who was keen to help.
