Here’s my 1968 280SL on display at Motors & Masterpieces here in Melbourne last month.
Was displayed under preservation and was extremely well received amongst some of the most beautiful cars of the world on display.
The highlight was I met the original owner of whom I bought it from and they were overwhelmed with how beautiful she came up after recommissioning this lovely masterpiece. It drives like it just came out of the factory. The most original car we have come across in Melbourne with no restoration. Some of the chrome has pitting and stains but we left every item as is to stay true to its originality.
I’ve had 6 pagodas now and I think this is probably one of the most original we have seen in Australia 🇦🇺. I’m the SL,Register Captain here at Mercedes Benz Club Victoria and honored to have this fine automotive.
These cars have a funny way of finding their owners. I am also fortunate enough to have a late 1967 280sl 5 speed ZF Pagoda factory two tone which are extremely rare in RHD I’ve been told with only 20 or so around the world in existence.
I must say a big thank you to Garry Marks who has been a long term friend and mentor for me on my journey of acquiring and finding these extraordinary cars which I have been in love with and chasing since 2016. It has brought me to this group that have helped me immensely. Ideas Recommendations Inspections and just passionate advise which goes a long way for us members.
I have friends all around the world now and have caught up with a few in different countries which is one of the best experiences I have had😀
So thank you all for having me in this forum
Keep your dreams alive and drive drive drive
