After a final burst of energy, I now have this car for sale. It's a 1970 280SL, manual 4 speed transmission, red with black interior, MBTex seats in good shape with no tears. I have done a lot of mechanical work on it per the list below. It will make a great driver, or is a strong candidate for a full-on restoration - buyers choice. The car is full operational, though I haven't put any miles on it due to lingering snow.
As a driver, the car is solid and has had extensive mechanical work done to make it drive well and be reliable. The paint and body work looks great from 10 feet, maybe even closer, but there are various imperfections if you get closer, notably some floor pan rust in the typical driver side location. But none of it will stop you from driving and enjoying this car every day.
Only the best Pagodas are candidates for a full-on restoration, and this is one of them. The 1970 280SL 4 speed is the pinnacle of the Pagoda line, and this matching numbers car is the perfect starting point. Datacard, serial number, body number, engine number, transmission number, and axle numbers all match, including the various body parts.

I am the owner as of the last 15 years, and the car is located in East Central Vermont, USA. Asking $50k USD, and I can possibly help with transportation in an enclosed trailer. I'll entertain offers, even if entertaining. Contact me through this site via private message.
A couple of pictures follow (sorry that the hood/bonnet is still removed), and I'm working on a more complete set that I can post somewhere.
