Heater Controls

I am replacing the heater controls and since the old ones were broken off I am not sure of the correct orientation of the bottom controls. Do the bottom two control tabs (sticking out of the dash)face up as the top two or do they face down which would be opposite of the top ones?

Upper face up, lower face down.
