1970 280 SL.  I just finished repairing the floor pans, trunk pan, and painting the undercarriage.  Lot's of work left.

Hi Thom,
next easy work could be -if it's an sticker- to remove the non-original side black lines that go from the head lights to the tail lights: the Pagoda doesn't need these extra black lines to look nice  :)
If these lines are painted, then it's not so easy...
One question: have the tyres the original size (185 R14, or 185/80 R14)? Because they seem to have an smaller diameter (as the 195/70, or 185/70 tyres)

Albert - not sure on the tires.  They will need replaced by the end of the season, but I will check.  As far as the pin stripe goes, not to worry, I will be stripping the entire body to bare metal, install the necessary sheet metal and paint.  Upon your suggestion, and I don't like painting or applying pinstripes, it will be without them when complete.

These are good news!  :)
- The pinstripes: because it will look much better without them
- The tyres: because if they have not the original diameter (as it seems in the picture), it's better to have them in bad condition... because to change them when are in good shape is a pity. The car also will look much better with the original tyres 185 HR14 (an smaller diameter of the tyres damages the balance of the design: the hardtop then seems too tall in comparison with the wheels)
Please use this folder to show us the improvements in your 280 SL, and the final result. It will be nice to see that good evolution in your Pagoda, the "Before and After"
