Hindsight Plastic Restorer
« on: October 12, 2005, 06:55:47 »
I have bought, but not yet used, a product called Hindsight which it is claimed will restore a yellowed or cracked plastic screen. I think that it works by removing the top layer of plastic which sounds scary. The puff on the website (http://hindsight.uk.com) is in the almost too good to be true category although the product does appear to be endorsed by the Mercedes Benz Club UK.

In case my cars turn into pumpkins on the first full moon after I use Hindsight, I wanted to check whether any of the members of this forum have used these potions (there are two in the kit) or are aware of a magazine review. I couldn't find any reference on a search.

My specific questions are whether Hindsight works? Whether it lasts? Whether there is a risk of damaging the hood fabric where it meets the plastic screen? And, most importantly, whether after use and removal of the top layer of plastic the screen becomes more vulnerable to future scratching?

Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated by this novice Pagoda restorer.

AGT,
I can thoroughly recommend it, I was as sceptical as you but I did mine 2yrs ago and not only was the plastic revived to "as new" but it's still fine today.
Use it, you'll be impressed !

And next time I'm Edinburgh way, I'll pop by for a squeeze of it onto my rear screen.

Too tight to buy a bottle ;)

Would that stuff work on yellowed washer bottles or brake fluid reservoirs?

Interesting idea for washer bottles, etc.  Do they sell this product in USA? Or a similar product?  I notice the website says for sale in UK only.
