Thanks to everyone for all the guidance. I think you are right about the lever Will, and nothing seems broken just came apart somehow, although the main lever seems to bind a little, may have been bent slightly, the pump now turns freely. I don't have the oil check valve, my line mounts directly to the pump and is of smallish dia. (less than 1/4") yet the BBB says for my pump, R18, that it was the next version (R18y) that dropped the oil check valve, followed by the R18z for US emissions. I feel like Sherlock Holmes, "Watson hand me that wench". Today I have to deal with the other bad MB, my 190E wants to idle at 1500 or surge up and down like a rodeo horse, BIG SIGH
