Migration to new server complete

Migration complete

Dear all,

I expect no-one has noticed anything but as of 12 hours or so we are on a different, bigger server. The only way you will notice the change is because the W113 has disappeared out of the W113 Pagoda SL Group logo, part of a decision of the board to simplify our name to the easier to roll-off "Pagoda SL Group".

You can now upload images again, and we have plenty of new space both on the server and in the database.

In addition a bug has been fixed, through the help ofone of our members, in the general part of the web-site (not the forums) to allow you to update your member profile.

One more significant thing has changed. If you can find that, I shall be impressed!

Peter: You have also changed the forum code. I wish I could still add a picture within the text.

It's still on the home page.  Should that be changed?

I noticed that during the time after our database size was doubled, but we were still on the old server, that the forums responded fairly slow.  It took a while to navigate between threads.  It's very fast now.

Dear all,

Hauser, well spotted. I thought it would be harder to find, because most people cannot remember what was there in the menu in the first place.

TheEngineer... no I did not change the forum code. When you are now replying, you should have the paperclip option allowing you to attach an image again. If you did not have it yet, you may have to press the Reload button in your browser. And, by the way, there is a trick to put an in-line image in a posted message once you have uploaded it. Maybe I'll add this to the FAQ.

Ed, well spotted too... I felt it did not add much since the links are in the menu on the left side of each page.

Rodd, the forum FAQ has always been there. I did not touch the forum code (yet...). On the home page, the only place the W113 Pagoda SL Group should be intact is on the "button". I need to get the original design changed... and I don't have it. I don't know who does but the artist who produced it is probably best equipped to fix it.

Speed: I don't know, but since were now running of a completely different server we may have a faster processor too. I'm not sure, but if you feel it's faster, it probably is.
