Although I bought the original MB colour code according to my data card (paint colour 576), I found this colour to be too bright (red). So we darkened the mixture to this maroon/cherry red colour. By the way, the backdrop is typical Maltese country side in February. It's usually much more dry. I hope you like these pics. And I apologise for looking too serious!

OK everyone, now you can comment on John's car with its unique red colour. We can see John, his car, and Malta.

P.S. John's original photos did not upload because they were much too large (about 900Kb each!) Our limit is 80K to save server space and to allow faster image download. (John's original images would have taken 10 minutes each for a 28K modem to download.)
To create smaller images, we suggested that John set his digital camera to "small" or "Low Resolution" since he does not have image editing software.

Jon's car will be in the 40th anniversary poster we are producing, as the Maltese Entry! (not to be confused with the Maltese Falcon, i.e. the illustruous ZF 5-speed equipped SL's as coined by Michael Egan)

I LIKE ... LOVE the color!
Does the paint shop have the formula?  Can you publish it?
PS I'm actually one of the purists but I WILL fudge a tad on car's code color if it's 1) an another MB color very close to the code color for the car, or 2) the color's like yours.

About the paint formula... August is fine... I'm not ready to paint another SL yet for a while (still looking for my 2nd one).
